Jerry Ben Ellison Jr.

1980 ∼ 2025

Jerry Ben Ellison Jr., a beloved father, devoted husband, cherished son, and friend to many, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his residence in Cleveland, Texas. Born on May 12, 1980, in Galveston, Texas, Jerry brought joy and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Throughout his life, Ben excelled as a project manager in the construction industry, a testament to his diligence and commitment to his work. However, it was not merely his professional achievements that defined him; rather, it was his warmhearted nature and loving spirit that will be remembered most fondly. Ben was a man who embodied kindness and generosity, treating every child he encountered as if they were his own. His playful, goofy personality endeared him to friends and family alike, and he dedicated himself to ensuring their happiness.

In the sanctity of his man cave, Ben created cherished memories with his children, often hosting mini concerts that became treasured family traditions. His love for music resonated through his interests, as he embraced playing the guitar and drums, dancing with abandon, and coaching various sports—his heart singing particularly for basketball, the sport he held dear. Alongside these passions, he found solace in the simplicity of fishing and relished the tastes of life, particularly enjoying his mother’s jalapeño poppers, an exquisite delight that punctuated his childhood.

Ben is lovingly remembered by his mother, Patricia Denise Allen, and her husband Jerry; his devoted wife, Nichole Ellison; and his beloved children, Austin Ellison, Jasmine Ellison, Kaitlyn Ellison, Jerry Ben Ellison III, and Kimber Ellison. His legacy extends to his granddaughter, Elizabeth Ellison, who will carry forth the spirit of her grandfather. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Luke Allen, and his wife Wendy; his grandfather, Clyde Ellison; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will all miss his compassionate presence tremendously. A host of friends and family, unified by their adoration for Ben, will continue to honor his memory in their own lives.

Ben is preceded in death by his father Jerry Ben Ellison; grandparents, Bobbie Collins, Betty Patterson, Victor Smith, and Ed Reiss.

Despite the profound sorrow of his passing, we find comfort in remembering that Ben’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him, and through the laughter echoing from the memories he made.

Services to celebrate Ben’s life will be held at Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas. The visitation will commence on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM officiated by Pastor Ryan Claussen. All are invited to join in commemorating a man who so fervently believed in the importance of family and friendship. Cremation Services are under the care of Faith and Family Funeral Services.

In this time of reflection, may we hold close the lessons of love, kindness, and the joyous spirit that Jerry Ben Ellison Jr. brought into our lives.

I still remember the day Nichole told me she’d met someone. A whirlwind romance with two lonely souls finding their home. Thank you for loving my best friend, my heart’s sister, and never giving up on the life you were building together. You were always there for our children, and loved them unconditionally. Uncle Ben to the rescue! (Saving the adults, not the kids). Countless birthday parties helping Tommy stay sane, and being one of the best friends he’s had during the past 12 years. From cruising the neighborhood - whether watching us tumble off the tailgate or receiving texts to keep us in one place - to Sundays filled with family, food, and laughter, you’ll always be a part of my favorite memories. {I’ll always be here to keep her a little wild🖤} We miss you, Ben, and we love you. Always.

Will always remember your kindness for others and your love for family and music. You were always the one that was there, when others needed you. My fondest memories, are when you were little and running around the deer lease. Dirty from head to toe, but always had the most fun. From pretending to shoot a deer with a stick or helping skin a real one. You loved every moment. I love you and will see you again, one sweet day!

Sharing this memory for my daughter, Jasmine. We went in to Cleveland emergency August 4, 2004 to be induced because you weren’t ready for this world. As I’m being hooked up to all the machines your dad walks in with French toast (if you know me you know it’s my favorite)! Here I am about to give birth, not allowed to eat and here he is scarfing down breakfast. Know your dad loved you in a way no one ever will. Love you baby girl

Hey buddy, I can't believe you're gone. Seems like yesterday. When our kids, we're little And we couldn't wait to see them grow up. And now our kids have kids. And even though I know you won't be here physically, I know you'll still get to see them and guide them as they grow. I wish I could just call you again. I know we're planning to get together soon. But tomorrow's stretch and today's aren't long enough, but, I know as good as you are. You're sitting at the table, was the king of kings. Our Lord. And that gives me peace, and I hope it gives your family peace. You will always be remembered. Love you brother

Ben was a big part of our lives for so many years, and it’s hard to imagine things without him. To all our kids, he was Uncle Ben — or Uncle Jim, as Kasey used to call him. They absolutely loved him. Ben was the guy who was always out playing with the kids, coaching them, or trying to teach them something new, while the rest of us were just hanging out. He had such a good heart and a way of making everyone feel included. He was also the one we’d call when we needed help with something — especially anything to do with building or fixing things we had no clue about. And without fail, Ben would show up ready to help, no questions asked. At every family event, he was always there — usually right by Nichole’s side. That’s just the kind of husband and person he was. Always there. Always steady. Things just won’t be the same without him. Rest easy, Ben. We’re going to miss you so much.
