Obituary

Virgil Vanwormer, 74, of Batson died Friday, June 6, 2017, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Woody Sonnier officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

There will be a gathering of family and friends also on Saturday June 24, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. till time of service.

Virgil was born October 24, 1942 in Sparta, WI to Virgil Blaine VanWormer Sr. and Evelyn Doris Wolfe. He was had lived in Batson, most of his life and was a carpenter by trade and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Hellon Bennett of Batson; son, Michael VanWormer of Shepherd, and numerous brothers and sisters. Grandchildren are Marie Parsons and Leigha Felix.
