Timothy Eugene Gannon

1964 ∼ 2020

Timothy “Tim” Eugene Gannon, 56, died on Saturday, September 26, 2020. Tim was born in Pasadena, Texas on February 3, 1964. He moved to Saratoga with his family as a teenager and graduated from West Hardin High School. He then went on to study at Lamar University. Tim worked in the oilfield and logging business before finding his true calling in Safety Management with concrete construction.

Tim had a personality the size of Texas and he loved his family with everything he had. He never met a stranger and was everyone’s best friend. Tim and his wife Kim lived life to the fullest. They spent their free time “buggy riding” through the mountains, watching NASCAR races, and sitting on their back porch making plans for the future. Summers weren’t over until they floated the river with their closet family and friends. Tim was an accomplished BBQ’er and loved to fire up the pit for his family, friends and co-workers. If you’ve ever tasted Tim’s ribs, you understand. One of Tim’s greatest joys were his grandchildren, all nine of them. Whether it was cooking them pancakes, helping them build bonfires, taking them hunting, mudding on the buggy, or sneaking them his favorite snacks, PawPaw never wasted a minute of spending time with his grandbabies.

Tim is survived by his mother Cynda Willis and husband Henry of Saratoga; the love of his life, soulmate, and best friend, Kimberly Gannon and their loyal German Shepherd Jaeger; children, Eric Gannon and his wife Alison of Barnesville, Maryland; Dustin Gannon and his wife Nicole of Saratoga; Stephanie Vandagriff and her husband Jimmy of Cypress; Shannon Simpson and her husband Mark of Houston; Matt Bankard and the love of his life Sarah McClain of Houston; brother, Delton Gannon, Jr. and wife Veronica of Saratoga; nine grandchildren, J.D., MacKenzie, Tyson, Weston, Carter, Katherine, Paislee, Rhett, and Olivia; nephews, Delton “Bear” Gannon and his wife Amanda of Saratoga; Kyle Gannon and his wife Samantha of Mont Belvieu; and his great nephews and niece. He is preceded in death by his father, Delton Tyson Gannon, Sr. of Saratoga.

Honoring Mr. Gannon as Pallbearers are Delton "Bear" Gannon, Kyle Gannon, Daniel Bussell, Grant Johnson, James Jones, Steve Goodman, Troy Wedgeworth, and Wil Warren.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 10:00 am at Faith and Family Funeral Services, Inc, followed by a graveside ceremony and a Celebration of Life Reception at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze, TX.

As I sit here and try to type a memory of my buddy, I can’t seem to just pick one. There were so many wonderful things about this man, I just can’t seem to bring myself to talk about just one. So for that reason I’m going to say this instead. Tim was the kind of person you only meet once in your life. He was caring, kind, compassionate, hard working, driven, loving, fun, stubborn, the life of every party, an amazing friend, a good father, a good grandfather, and a good husband who loved his wife more than anything. I had the pleasure of knowing Tim and being his friend for the last 7 years. I can honestly say Tim had a huge impact on my life and so many others. The first time I met Tim I thought “Holy cow, Texas just walked through the door”. This world has lost a wonderful human but I believe Heaven gained an stubborn ole gentle giant. God always has a plan, and God needed Tim more than we did. I really hope you’re up there cussing us all for missing you. Rest east my dear friend. You will forever be loved and missed.

I was only able to meet Tim once when he and Kim came to Seattle several years ago. It was the first time Kim and I had met after talking for over a year or two on Facebook and going through the loss of our fathers from their brain cancer battles. Tim did have the personality the size of Texas and He made me feel as if I were family the minute that we all met together. What a lovely human being and what a amazing love story between he and my dear friend Kim. That is the kind of love we all dream about.... and they had that and you could see it even in a day and a few hours spent with them. I hope the depth of that love carries you and the entire family forward because surely he had that deep of love for everyone in his family that he adored. Gods speed to you Tim. Gone far too soon. Our deepest condolences to you Kim and the entire family. Love, Maria Barrett Seattle, WA

In my 19 years at Baker Concrete I never encountered Tim where he did not make me smile. We always tried to one up each other with our friendly banter. Tim was professional while still being personable. It was a win, win for people dealing with him. He was one of the top of the list of the people I miss since leaving Baker. Over the years I watched as his family grew in maturity and numbers and how happy he was because of it. My sympathies to you Kim and the rest of the family.

I only had the privilege of meeting Tim twice. I knew immediately he was special. His permanent smile and laugh was contagious. I could tell he was caring and kind and yet a big responsible teddy bear. I wanted to be his friend sure didn't want to get on his bad side. I think we were friends. Tim the man I met was a mountain. A mountain of love and with more goodness in his heart than any man I have ever met. Godspeed Tim and thank you for being a great father and husband.

Kim, my heart is broken to hear that Tim is no longer with us. Tim was more than a boss, he was like a big brother to me. We would call each other at least once a month and he would always ask how was my family. I’m going to miss you big brother and specially the phone calls. Every time I called him, he would always answer (Chapparo) . We love you big brother Tim. My thoughts and prayers are with Kim and the entire family. May our God wrap his arms around you in this difficult times. God Bless the entire family. Sincerely, Alex Salazar and family. 💔💔

My dearest friend and the greatest boss a girl could have Tim Gannon I am so thankful to have been blessed with knowing and working for you for 7 1/2 years. I had so many of my "firsts" with you and thanks to you. I had your back and you always had mine. You became one of my closest friends and confidants all while being my boss. You were the most humble person I’ve ever met in life and the most fun to be around. I appreciate you so much for that. You listened to me, I trusted you wholeheartedly, you did the best you could to guide me in the best direction. There will never be another Tim! You were special! Thanks to you I have the knowledge I do today. We had so many good times together, it’s a blessing to have created all of those great memories with you. I will hold on to all of these great memories forever and cherish them with all of my heart. I love you so much and wish I would have let you know how much I appreciate you the way you always made sure to let me know. Thank you so much for the life experiences, the knowledge, and most importantly for the laughs! I'm going to miss you bud.

I'm still trying to grasp the realization that Tim is no longer with us… Tim was not only my mentor; he was my friend. He was a great manager and an even greater human being. He was full of stories and experience that inspired me to someday reach his level of achievement. Our prayers go out to everyone who loved and had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be missed…

Tim was my mentor and friend for almost 10 years. He taught me a lot of things about safety and some things about life as well. When you think of what a “good man” is Tim was the persona of all those things. He will be missed by a lot of people. I pray for Kim’s full recovery from her physical injuries as well as emotional and spiritual. Sincerely, Barry Ackel
