Timmy Ikey King

1958 ∼ 2025

Timmy Ikey King, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away on March 21, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on November 13, 1958, in San Augustine, Texas, Timmy was a remarkable wireline operator, dedicating an impressive 45 years to his career from 1986 until his retirement in 2020. His professionalism and commitment to his work were only paralleled by his immense capacity for love and generosity.

Timmy was celebrated not only for his skills as a business owner but also for his kind-hearted nature. Known for his biggest heart, he often went without so that others could have. He was known to be humble and funny, quickly making friends wherever he went — never meeting a stranger, he brought positivity and warmth to those around him. His spirit was infectious; whether sharing laughter or comforting a friend in need, Timmy's presence lit up every room.

A devoted Christian, Timmy's deep faith influenced every aspect of his life. His love for Jesus was evident in his genuine interactions and the sincere way he cared for others. He spent many joyous moments doing what he loved most — fishing, hunting, and caring for his beloved roosters.

Timmy leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his family: his wife of 36 years, Melissa King, who stood by him unwaveringly; his loving children, Maggie Mitchell and her husband Justin, Luke King and his wife Chelsea, and James Kelly King and his wife Brittny. The joy of his life, his grandchildren — Karson, Tucker, Harper, Lane, Chloie, Ikey Dean, Case Kelly, and Lucchese — were the light in his eyes, and he cherished every moment he spent with them.

He is also survived by his sisters, Martha Lou Cook and her husband Jay, and Beth Rodriguez and her husband Eloy, as well as his best friend, Mike Fregia, whom never left his side and shared countless memories and laughter with him. Timmy will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, family and friends who also felt the warmth of his love.

Timmy is preceded in death by his parents, Otis Roy King and Mary Lucille Sowell, his brother Roy King, and his sisters Betty Holcutt, and Ann Livingston who welcomed him into eternal peace.

Honoring Timmy as pallbearers are Luke King, James Kelly King, Justin Mitchell, Seth Holmes, Zane Vestal, and Dustin Fregia. Honorary pallbearers are Tucker, Lane, Ikey Dean, and Case Kelly.

The community that Timmy touched with his kindness will have the opportunity to pay their respects during the visitation on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Open House Ministries Church, located at 3605 N Main St, Liberty, TX. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at the church, officiated by Pastor Donald Scott. Interment to follow at Hardin Chapel Cemetery.

Timmy Ikey King will be dearly missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
