It is very likely that T. F. Bean was a descendant of a family of Chieftains of the Clan MacBean / MacBain of Kinchyle, Loch Ness, Inverness-shire, Scotland. William Bean, son of Donald MacBean and grandson of Angus MacBayne, came to the states in the mid 1600's with his brother John. They were taken POW and exiled to the states with their fellow POW's and sold as indentured servants to cover the expense of shipping them over here. While John settled in NH, William settled in VA with the family eventually moving into TN & TX. To his family, condolences on your loss. If this connection is news to you and you choose to explore it, the traces are out there and I hope you will have as interesting a time pursuing it as I have.

My wife and I were introduced to Tom Bean by his sister Linda at a celebration of family and friends here in Santa Fe. That was almost 5 yeras ago, but we still remember our brief visit with Tom, of how kindly he was, how he went out of his way to spend some time with us though we were perfect strangers. Our being friends with his sister and brother-in-law seemed to be the only introduction he needed and we felt immediately we were on our way to becoming his friends too. Though we only enjoyed one visit with him, we also feel a loss. Our hearts go out to all his family. We're sure our Lord has prepared a fine place for him!

Check out kountzeonline.com to read my comments. It will be comments I made during the service yesterday. I am crushed and need your continued prayers - as all his family does. Beans live to be old. Daddy was nearly 95. Mama was 84. My grandparents were in their 80s. How did this happen to him?
