Theresa Faye Cain

1963 ∼ 2026

Theresa Faye Cain,62, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born on July 6, 1963, in Dayton, Texas, she embraced life with a free spirit that endeared her to all who crossed her path.

Known affectionately by her nicknames “G-Maw,” “Throttle Momma,” “Momma T,” and “Tbone”, Theresa was not just a bus driver for Beaumont ISD; to her family and friends, she was seen as a superhero, often donning her bike as her cape, ready to embrace life's adventures with vigor. With a heart as vast as the Texas sky, she had an innate ability to connect with everyone she met, never failing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her thoughtfulness was evident in the little things: surprises and gifts for those who crossed her mind, a testament to her generous spirit.

Theresa's creativity shone through her many hobbies, particularly in her love for making stained glass and crafting steppingstones. As she lived every minute of her life exactly how she wanted to, Theresa found joy in the simplicity of fishing and the thrill of adventure, often exploring lakes and rivers with her children. Her vibrant personality and artistic talents brought joy not only to her family but to all who were fortunate enough to experience her warmth and light.

She is survived by her dear son, Cody Cain and his wife Bethany, and her loving daughter, Karli Cain-Colton and her husband Caleb. Her siblings, Mark Hopson, Cindy Prochazka and her husband James, Diana Hopson and her husband George, and Michelle Bauman and her husband Steve, share in the legacy of love and laughter she steadfastly nurtured. Theresa's true pride and joy were her grandchildren, Cody Mason Cain, John Clyde Cain, Piper Colton, and Charlie Colton. They will forever cherish the memories of their adventurous G-Maw.

Additionally, Theresa held her nieces, Jennifer Lambert, Cynthia Sweeney, and Stephanie Hopson, close to her heart, considering them daughters of her own. The love for her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family was a testament to the strong bonds weaved throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Marion Hopson and Dolores Anna Norris Hopson, whose love and guidance shaped the incredible woman she became. Her absence leaves a void that will be felt deeply, but her spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she touched.

Serving as pallbearers are Johnathan Collins, Brandon Collins, Shane Landry, Beth Johnson, Brandon Sweeney, and Matthew Alexander. Honorary Pallbearers are Cody Mason Cain, John Clyde Cain, Jake Lambert, and Kai Lambert.

Family and friends are invited to honor Theresa’s life during visitation at Hardin Baptist Church in Hardin, Texas, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Carlton Bailey. Interment to follow at the Liberty Catholic Cemetery.

As we gather to celebrate her remarkable life, let us remember her adventurous spirit, unyielding kindness, and unwavering love. Theresa Faye Cain was truly one of a kind, and she will be missed more than words can express.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Harley's Angels or BACA.

We have ridden many miles together and I have many stories about that. Some I can tell and some, I can’t. Many years ago, she rode that little green Sporty she had with me and my club brothers all the way to Red River, New Mexico. One day we had just come down out of the mountains on some crazy steep and winding roads and stopped at a little restaurant to grab a bite. As she got off her bike, she said to me, “Rain Man, my brakes stopped working when I started down the mountain.” I could not believe it. So I got on it and checked it out and by golly it was true. I called for our support vehicle and we went inside the café for lunch. As we were eating, we met some bikers from a Christian club. They asked if they could bless our bikes before we hit the road. We said they absolutely could. We got on our bikes to move to a spot to wait for the sag wagon. When we got to the wait point she yelled, “Hey Rain Man, my brakes are working now.” You must believe in the power of prayer. She always did it her way.

I was very sorry to hear this news. Theresa babysat me in Hardin when I was in elementary school and she was in high school. She took me for rides on her motorcycle and I refused to take a bath unless she made me brownies. And she let me sleep with the stereo on. She was so fun and so kind to me. She is a favorite childhood memory for me.

My heart is breaking for all the family, especially those grandkids that she loved so very much. Theresa came and spent the night here at our place in NE Texas on her way back from Arkansas a couple of years ago. Her and Leroy, we had so much fun just riding the golfcart around our property and sitting around telling old stories and laughing like crazy. We loved Theresa so very much, she was a true friend, she never had a bad word to say about anyone. I know Theresa and I ate a many a crawfish together. I'm going to miss her so very much.

Oh my Theresa. How I will miss you until my last breath. I am so heartbroken. Every time we would talk you would say "I've loved ypu since you were born. I loved you from your first breath" and I would always say "maybe. But I'll love you longer. I'll love you until my last breath" man I didn't know it would be so soon that I would have to learn to breath without you. ❤️
