I worked with Susan at Hardin County Indigent Health Care for 14 years. We had our good & bad days. Yesterday during the service, I thought of so many good memories. I'd like to share a couple of the funny moments we had. When our boss (Lynda Davis) was out of the office; we always knew when she was going to call to check on us. We started taking turns leaving early when Lynda made her final check in call. We finally got caught when Susan decided to leave a few minutes earlier. I was always worried about Susan's hands. She used to hit the manual stapler pretty hard. Lynda & I decided to get electric staplers. We waited until Susan took off to switch out the staplers because we knew she'd refuse to use them. Susan was so mad at us for taking her manual stapler. She went through every cabinet & file cabinet looking for her stapler. Susan & I could get pretty caught up in world events. One particular event was when Warren Jeffs polygamy community was raided. In the news we heard about two ladies who wrote books about their experience in escaping the polygamy. Susan checked one of the books out of the library. When Lynda wasn't at work, we took turns reading chapters out of the book. When the other ladies book came out, I bought the book. Again, we took turns reading while Lynda was out. One day Susan was working alone. She had a lady come in with her Thanksgiving grocery list. The lady gave Susan her list & asked her what she was going to buy. Susan said, she told her she couldn't buy her anything because she had her own family to provide for. Susan told her; her husband was given a ham & she would be glad to give it to her. The lady told her she didn't want the ham; she wanted a turkey. Susan told her she wasn't buying her a turkey. Susan gave her a couple of dollars to buy ingredients for a cake. Susan loved her clients, even the ones who weren't that came to visit on a regular basis. Susan would laugh & cried with them. Susan would go above & beyond to help anyone. I am sad she's gone but I know she's in heaven taking care of everyone. I know Susan & Lynda have everything under control. I miss my two co-workers so much. Makes me mad they've both left me. We became so close. The three amigos will ride again when we meet again. Until then.... Donna Miller

I am so, so sorry to hear of Susan’s passing. Even though we met in school, she was one of my very best friends when we worked at West Hardin. She was also so helpful to all she knew. She always went beyond expectations for those around her. I don’t think I can think of a time when she did not have a smile on her face. I know that she will be missed by many! Thoughts and prayers for Robert, Brian, and Terri and the rest of her family.

I had the pleasure of working at West Hardin school with Susan years ago. She was a sweet, loving woman who loved her job and working with children and helping those who needed her help. We had fun lip syncing with Ms. Cotton and Sandra Driscoll to the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy song at a talent show. One of my many favorite memories of her. She will be missed.
