Ronnie David Hollingsworth

1948 ∼ 2025

Ronnie David Hollingsworth

Ronnie David Hollingsworth, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, was born on June 28, 1948, in the small town of Liberty, Texas, to his parents, Robert Ellis Hollingsworth and Ruth Barrow Hollingsworth. He passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, in Baytown, Texas, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to touch the hearts of all who knew him.

Ron was a man of deep convictions, strength of character, and faith in God. His life was marked by a profound love for his family and a commitment to the Gospel that brought him joy and purpose. He is survived by his wife, Frances Kee Hollingsworth, whose support and love were especially instrumental in the final years of their life together. Ron was also the proud father of three surviving children: Ronnie Hollingsworth and his wife, René, Jeff Hollingsworth, and Shelby Hollingsworth; and one stepson: Peter Arreguin.

As a grandfather, Ron was filled with pride and affection for his grandchildren: Sydnee Re'gan Dover and her husband, Caileb, Alexis Hollingsworth, Cameron Hollingsworth, Christian Hollingsworth, Caden Hollingsworth, and Chase Hollingsworth; and Peter’s daughter, Lexi Arreguin. He also welcomed the blessing of having a great-grandson, Micah Dover.

Though Ron's heart was undoubtedly large, it was not without its share of sorrow. He was preceded in death by twin sons, Roy and Rory Hollingsworth, and his son, Jeremy Hollingsworth. He also mourned the passing of his brothers, Harvey, Jack, and Leon Hollingsworth, as well as his sister, Elsie Whitmire. Their memories lived on in his stories and the love he shared with those around him. He is survived by his only remaining sibling, Anna Ruth Locke.

Ron's life was characterized by resilience and unwavering love, and he was always quick to offer support or lend a hand to those in need. If you spent any time with him, you were likely exposed to: 1. his faith in Jesus Christ; 2. hearing him talk like Donald Duck; or 3. one or more (typically the latter) of his very original “Ron-isms”. He enjoyed writing songs and poetry, and he loved reading and studying God’s Word. Ron retired as an Owner-Operator from the trucking industry after 26 years (and over 1.5 million miles), but his professional career spanned over 40 years and included employment with companies like Fluor Daniel, Frito-Lay, and Drilling Tools, Inc.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Oakdale Cemetery in Daisetta, Texas with Pastor Wayne Moss officiating.

As we remember Ron Hollingsworth, let us celebrate an imperfect life lived to the glory of a perfect Savior. His memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him, forging connections that will last beyond a lifetime.

Uncle Ronnie was a good man. His personality and mannerisms were different than all his siblings including, my father and his brother, Harvey. When I was a kid, I remember all of us getting together at Grandma Hollingsworth's house in Liberty. He was always the calmest of the bunch, and you appreciated his ability to smooth over issues. He was a kind man with a great love for his family.

Such a special friend you were to us. We won’t be able to say our farewell for I (Rob) will be in the hospital. Our deepest and sincere condolences to Frances and Shelby, Ronnie Jr. and Jeff. He loved you all deeply. We will miss you and our talks about God and his word. You’re now present with the our father what joy that must be for you. Although we are sad here on earth in your absence, but we know one day we’ll meet again on that beautiful golden shore. See you in the morning, my friend farewell. Thanks for all the memories❤️
