I was so nerves i kept trying to look back to see an u know how when your driving and you turn your head to look and the whole car looks with you becaues your hands on the steering wheel just seems to follow right along. then there was that time we lived in hull in the blue house down from the elementary school in hull..we was onthe back road behind the house daddy had this old red motorcycle that he was trying to push start by running along the side of it an was planning to jump on when it started up Well needless to say it started up and cant really rememeber all that well but what i do rememeber is it dragged him start into the sh*t ditch i was only laughing after i seen him laughing so hard with all that nasty sh*t mud on him...i know his been gone 7 years now but i can remember it like it was yesterday..i miss you so very much daddy

...in elementary we caught the bus together, led cows from their house to ours, bit chunks out of smoked meat hanging in the smokehouse, and fought over cracklings when our daddy’s had butchered a hog. ... In first grade I threw a rock over the swing set and hit him in the eye... He carried that scar forever. ... I think he was one of the first "gang members" in Batson... Dirt bike gang that is... In the early 70's Batson had a dirt bike gang... If memory serves me right it was Ronald Dean, Billy Fregia and Gary Vanya and a few others. ... In the late 70's he met a beautiful Hardin Hornet... Miss Connie Flowers they married and had three wonderful children, Jennifer, Rhonda and Ronald Jr. ... RD was a hard worker... a great provider… Like the postman, rain, sleet or snow he could be found on that old work over rig... He knew it from inside-out, up and down... His awesome work ethics were fueled by the love for his family. ... Ronald Dean became sick in mid-December (Respiratory issues)... He never really recovered but as he told me less than two weeks ago... "This was a blessing in disguise." ... He knew that the end was near but he also knew that the "End was just the Beginning"... He had ALWAYS been a "Good ole Boy"... but one March morning, in a hospital room... While watching the "700 Club" he had an experience... and with that came peace. ... I know he is pain free, breathing without difficulty and already loved on his Momma and baby sister. . ... I have been blessed to call him my friend for over 50 years... our lives may had appeared complicated to others.. but the love and bond of friendship never wavered. I knew his every secret and he knew mine. … I will never be able to watch a Clint Eastwood movie, a civil war documentary or pass a work over rig without thinking of him. … Rest in Peace my sweet-sweet friend… after you make your rounds, give Momma, Daddy and Aunt Mildred a big hug for me…and yes we will remember… “This is not goodbye but I will see you later.”

Ronald was a very sweet and compassionate man, I had the pleasure of being in his life for the last 10 years . He loved his family very much, especially his kids and grandkids, he would do anything for them all they had to do was ask and he was there. He loved history and anything about the civil war, most of all he loved to research his family history and learn about his ancestors. He left this life entirely to soon, and will be greatly missed but not forgotten. I love you Ronald Dean Patton rest in peace and breathe easily.
