Robert was a fine man of great character. He was always there to help friends and family. He was a wealth of knowledge and would share it with you. He was a strong man, physically and morally. I thought the world of him and his family and will miss him very much. I hate the fact that Covid19 kept us apart during his last year. Rest in peace, Robert. Rod Rials

He was always a life and spirit! I didn’t get a huge amount of time with him as we lived in Washington while he and the family were in Texas... That being said he always made an huge impact when they came to Washington to see us! His loving, funny presence, his amazing accent and comedy, and his outgoing family is family nature always made us feel like time was never there. Not gonna lie the southern drawl always made conversations quizzical for me and interesting! I loved trying to mimic the accent! Honestly I just always remember JOY when he was around... You were loved and cherished in or Renton Wa Magnuson families eyes! You are missed and we look forward to seeing you again and hearing your wonderful drawl and kind nature in heaven one day

Uncle Robert was very special to my husband Robert and our family. It was always the highlight when we visited Texas to get to go to Uncle Robert's. The kids absolutely loved to go to the property to fish, shoot snakes, walk around looking for calves, driving the equipment around. Uncle Robert always had new plans when it came to his pastures so everytime visiting something new was to see. He also made sure there was always an Easter family reunion so we could get to see alot of the family at one time. Was so good for the kids to get to know the family. He also made several trips to New York to visit us. We got to tour New York City with him and see the sites when he visited. And I will always cherish the fire pit he had custom made for us and brought all the way to NY for us. He will be so greatly missed.

My cousin in law was a character!! Speaking with Robert for the first time was a new experience. His Texas drawl was like a foreign language to me. It wasn't long before I heard my cousin Theresa say "you all" talk about culture shock. I remember Robert as caring and compassionate soul. He truly loved his family. Robert had a gift for story telling, some true some embellished. However his story's always made you laugh. I will miss Robert and his gentle soul. Jim & Kim Magnuson AKA (Magwalds)

My uncle Robert was a great man who easily built strong and positive relationships with all who knew him. As a resident of Washington state, I had the opportunity to visit Robert several times of the years in Texas and he visited his extend family here as well. Events that stick out to me the most are helping Robert deliver a cow, catching catfish with Robert, going on country drives, and of course Robert's famous snake eye soup. Robert had a way of sharing time and things with you that made it feel even more special. One Christmas Robert had purchased a present for me and was really excited for me to receive that present. He phoned me to tell me about the present before I had opened it and told me that "if it smells funny just throw it out." Total guy humor that we laughed about for quite some time and I continue to chuckle just thinking about the fur aviator hat that he got me as a present. Robert's strong relationships ties impacted me and makes me want to form stronger relationships with my younger family members who are at a distance. Even though Robert was far away in travel you knew he was only a phone call away and would help you however he could. Robert, will be missed by all his family and I know he's making God laugh right about now. Daniel Howell

I had the privilege of being one of Mr. Rawlinson's physicians, and an even greater privilege of being his friend. Every time he would come in for a medical appointment, we would discuss his treatment plans. But soon enough, he would say "enough about that, let's talk about the important stuff.....How's the hunting?" I really enjoyed my short time with him, sitting by the lake on his property grilling sausage and talking about the outdoors. He was a very generous and considerate person, and I am glad I had the opportunity to get to know him. Thanks for being a friend to me and my family! Brett Stephens

Robert Rawlinson was a handsome, thoughtful, kind and generous guy. Here are a few Robert stories to share. One time when he was visiting his family in Washington, he involved his nephews in making snake-eyed soup. They were fascinated by the intriguing secret recipe, purchasing the ingredients and cooking and eating the soup with Uncle Robert. They admired Uncle Robert and that admiration and love lasts to this day. Who didn’t love Robert’s cows? They were so peaceful! So Robert bought me a calf. I named it “Blaze.” Eventually Blaze was sold but I was sent the profit! What a boost to my meager pocketbook. I spent every penny of Robert’s “profit” wisely. Another time when I visited Texas, Robert took me to his property so he could wrangle cows. However, when Robert opened the gate, the horse ran away! That horse gave us a merry chase but finally with some help from friendly passerby the horse was returned to the pasture. It turned out that cow wrangling was such a stressful occasion that we had to stop at a store, buy beer and drink beer in brown paper sacks to calm ourselves down. Oh those beautiful Texas country roads and cold beer did the trick! And here I sit today in a warm and comfortable house that Robert at the request of my sister, Theresa gave me. That’s Robert – thoughtful, kind and generous. What an example for all of us you are. Thanks for everything, Robert! Your favorite sister-in-law, Mary Howell
