Robert Allen Kirkland, 66, of Votaw, was called to his eternal resting place on Thursday, October 17, 2019. He entered this world on February 14, 1953, in Kountze, TX. He was born to Calvin Curtis Kirkland and Easter Bernice Knight and had lived in Votaw most of his life and was a logger.

He is survived by his wife, of 38 years Gayla Creel Kirkland of Votaw. Sons, Curtis Allan Kirkland of Cleveland; Robert Lane Kirkland of Votaw. Daughters, Marcie Buxton of Cleveland; Amanda Renee Kirkland of Votaw and brother, Calvin Kirkland of Votaw. Grandchildren: 9.

A service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at 3:00 P.M. at Encounter Church of Votaw with Reverend Bill Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Votaw cemetery.

Those honoring Robert as pallbearers are Randy Kelley, Brian Wiggins, Bill Jones, Don Kelley, Kevin Kirkland, Chris Mefferd. Honorary pallbearers are Timmy Creel, and Randon Kelley Gavin Ray Kirkland, Chaun Robert Aisenbrey.

There will be a gathering of family and friends also on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at Encounter Church.

Robert will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him vey much..

My condolences to the Kirkland family. I remember the night Robert came by our cafe in Rye one night just at closing time and he and Linda instantly hit it off. He was a good looking boy and marriage soon followed. Sad to know he's gone.

R I P Uncle Robert I love you and I will miss you.. I would like to share a memory about when I was a kid I got bit by a dog on the back of my leg then he was going to go over there and get a hold of that dog. I remember when he used to ride a little motor bike when I was a small kid. I remember a time when he caught a little baby deer and brought it home.
