84 of Daisetta, TX, died on Thursday August 20, 2015 at Liberty Healthcare Center of Liberty.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 P.M.on Sunday August 23, 2015 at Central Baptist Church of Daisetta with Reverend Lesley Gaines officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Dale cemetery also located in Daisetta.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday August 22, 2015 at Central Baptist Church from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

Rita was born August 16, 1931 in Goosecreek, TX to I.B. Buckles Sr. and Ina Woods. She had lived in Daisetta, since she was 18 years of age and was an homemaker.

She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church where she played the organ for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Marvin Landry, her parents, I.B. Buckles and Ina Woods Buckles. One brother I.B. Buckles, and sister- in- law Wilma Buckles.

Survivors are son, Terry Landry and fianc Debbie Hailey of Spring, TX, and daughter Bernita Ann Landry of Daisetta.

Grandchildren are Amanda Sweezy and husband Rob of Hull, Craig Landry, Megin Landry both of Daisetta, and Maxi Alderette and husband Julio of Katy.

Great grandchildren are Bella Sweezey of Hull, Justin Alderete of Katy, Riggs Sweezy of Hull and Josie Alderete of Katy.

Serving as pallbearers are Terry Landry, Rob Sweezy, Julio Alderete, Lance Carr, Joe Harrison, and Scotty Hart.

Honorary pallbearers are Gene Walker, Bub Chalfant, Huey Palmer, Cotton Harrison, Chisholm Taylor, and Joe Allen Slack.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Hull-Daisetta ISD football program: PO Box 477 Daisetta, TX 77533.

We were deeply saddened to hear that we had lost Rita, this Thursday morning! What a very fine, and always cheerful and charming lady, Rita Landry was! Rita and Doug Landry were such great and giving people, who played a great part in the joy and success that my family had, when my Dad, Harold Morgan, worked many years for the Oil Well Production Company, out of Hull Daisetta. My Mom. Lois Morgan, just thought the world of Rita, and fully enjoyed any time spent talking or visiting with Rita. I had many opportunities to see Rita and Doug in my high school and early college days, and I actually roughnecked a summer in High School, for Oil Well Production. Rita and Doug always treated their employees with great dignity and respect. In turn, all of their employees had great respect for both Rita and Doug! When my Dad suffered a physical ailment, called an Arterio Venus Malformation, that paralyzed his lower body and made him wheel chair bound, Rita and Doug continued some support for him and my mom, although he could no longer work in the field for il Well Production. What great and supportive people they were, setting high standards for all to try to meet!! We want to express our deepest and sincerest condolences, to all of Rita's family!! Ms Rita will always have a special place in my heart. I know I will miss her visits. I can (in my memory) see her walking down the hall to my office where we talked of friends, family and her other love , crafting. My prayers and love to all who loved her.
