Prosper Abegzel, 73, of Liberty, died Monday, March 05, 2018 at Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1944, in Casablanca, Morocco to Albert and Mercedes Benton Abegzel. Mr. Abegzel retired as a Mud Engineer and moved to Liberty in 2007 where he enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc. with Reverend Woody Sonnier officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry Cemetery in Batson. A gathering of Mr. Abegzel's family and friends will also be on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Amelia Marberry.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife Sherry Abegzel of Liberty, sons, Randy Lee of Huntsville, TX and Joel Lee of West Lake, LA, daughter, Penny Margiotta of Hammond, LA, brother, Sammy Abegzel of Paris, France, sisters, Felice Abegzel of Leon, France and Meimeita Abegzel of Jerusalem, Israel, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
