Phyllis Jane Rhodes of Sour Lake, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 68.

A native and lifelong resident of Sour Lake, she was a homemaker. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Winegeart and Eva Mae Richardson; sons, Jerrod Robinson and Franklin Helston Robinson Jr.; grandparents, Alva Richardson Sr. & Nanci Alzala Richardson and Alfred David Winegeart and Amanda Agnes.

Survivors are her husband, Michael Ray Rhodes of Sour Lake; sons, Joshua Dinet of Sour Lake, Jerimiah Dinet of Baton Rouge; daughter, Callye Windsor of Sour Lake; brother, David Winegeart of Honey Island; sister, Eva Winegeart of Sour Lake; daughters in law, Connie Robinson, Layselinn Dinet, and Shannon Dinet; son in law, David Winsor; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of loving family and friends.

He only takes the best

God saw she was getting tired

and a cure was not to be

so He put His arms around her

and whispered, "Come with me."

With tear-filled eyes we watched her

suffer and fade away

Although we loved her deeply,

We could not make her stay.

A golden heart stopped beating.

Hard-working hands put to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best!
