Patsy ' Pat ' Dee Sims, 81, of Liberty, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Baylor St. Lukes Medical Center in Houston.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday October 28, 2017 at 2:00P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Inc. with Reverend Gideon Watson officiating.Interment will follow at Old Hardin cemetery in Kountze.

Serving as pallbearers are Bo Robert, Ricky Fregia, Timmy Fregia, Sam McMurtry, Matt McMurtry, and Brad Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Fregia, Lamar Fontenot, and Cecile Taylor.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday October 27, 2017 from 5:00P.M. until 9:00P.M. at Faith & Family. She was a native and life long residence of Liberty, and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, BW Sims, sons, Lawrence McMurtry, Kenny Sims, and Barry Sims. Sister, Faye Colvin, granddaughters, Patricia Katherine Kennedy, Sandra Lee Sims, and daughter-in-law, Shelia McMurtry.

Survivors are son, Johnye McMurtry and wife Fran of Waco, daughters, Tommye Sims, Terrye Skaines, Metzie Sims all of Hardin, 7 sisters, 26 Grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

To the kids and family of Pat , I have known Pat for about 50 years. Those were some very good memories and we enjoyed going over those memories from time to time. Pat was always willing to take anyone into her home, she love to be surrounded by family. She had a laughter and smile that stole your heart away. Thank you Pat for being my friend and taking me and my children in those many years ago. We are all stronger people for it, you gave us encouragement when It was needed most.
