Patricia Ann Finley

Patricia Ann “Pat” “Nana” Tinkle Finley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away at home with her family by her side on Monday October 7, 2024 at the age of 90. She was born on July 27, 1934 in Caledonia, TX to parents W.L. Tinkle Sr. and Thelma Faye Tinkle. Pat worked early on as a model for Battelstein’s and Neiman Marcus in Houston, TX. After marriage and having children, she spent her time taking care of her family. Nana was a nurturer by nature and loved to work in her garden. In fact, she could be found in her garden day and night. She loved watching her plants and flowers grow, just as she did her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She always had an abundance of everything she grew to share with family and friends. Nana loved to cook and bake for her family, and was well known to bake some of the best cakes, fudge, and divinity by all her family and friends. After her children and grandchildren were grown, and gardening became more difficult with her illness, she loved to go to Delta Downs with family and friends to play slot machines late into the night, outplaying everyone with her.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, brothers, W.L. “Bill” Tinkle Jr., and Douglas Carl Tinkle, sister Corrine Tinkle, and her husband of 67 years HK “Buddy” Finley. She is survived by her daughter s Patti Finley (and wife Nikki Vollert) of Hardin, TX, Roseann Blanchard (and husband Chris Blanchard) of Hardin, TX, Grandchildren: Christopher “Paul” Blanchard, Matthew Haberle (and wife Kelly), Patti “PR” Haberle, Kim Finley, Tina Finley, Bubba Finley, Sharon Finley, Melissa Locke, LeAnn Jensen, Dustin Vollert, Kelby Whiddon , Courtney Vollert, and Kara Wages. The family would like to extend their appreciation and deepest thanks to Jessica and Brandi with Altus Hospice of Kingwood, TX for the love and support you extended to us at a very difficult time .

I am so sorry to hear about Pat - although I had not seen her for years, she was one of my favorite first cousins. She was much like Aunt Faye in her love for family and growing things. I am praying for the family as they adjust to life without her present.

As I read about Pat's gardening, cooking, and care of family, I thought that sounded just like Aunt Faye. When I was young and Pat came to visit. I thought she was quite glamorous. Accustomed to ragged jeans, I was very impressed by the gold lamee pants she wore on one of these occasions. I am the next to youngest of our 1st cousins and feel sad that so few of us are still alive.
