Myrtis Louise Venable

Myrtis Louise Venable, 63, of Dayton, died Thursday January 19, 2017 at her residence.

A service of remembrance will be held on Sunday January 22, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at New Life United Pentecostal Church of Liberty, with Reverend Eric Bolenbaucher and Reverend Aaron Delaughter officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pallbearers are Morris Nettles, Daniel Logue, Brent Coots, Justin Cordell, Robert Wurz and Rodney Wurz. Honorary pallbearers are Andy Coots, Ian Morris, and David Bearden.

The family will be receiving friends on Saturday January 21, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at New Life United Pentecostal Church.

A native of Natchez, MS she had lived in Dayton, and was a homemaker and loving mother. She was also a member of New Life United Pentecostal Church of Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her parents Barney Metcalfe and Marie Metcalfe; sister, Linda Sterling and brothers, Edward Metcalfe and Barney Roy Metcalfe.

Survived by her loving husband Danny Venable daughters, Pride Green of Dayton, Meleana King of Mason City, IL Mitiz Peters and husband Mark of Dayton, and step-daughter, Tina Venable of Hessmer, LA. Step-sons, Chad Venable and Billy Venable both of Hessmer, LA. Brother, Clifford Metcalfe and wife Mary of Natchez, MS and sister, Wanda Ladner and husband Wylie of Bayou Sorrell, LA. Also survived by extended daughter, and son Teri and Andy Coots of Dayton.

Grandchildren are Ian, Emilee, Elizabeth, Rhiannon along with 8 additional grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

'Nana 'was such a special lady. She always told her stories with so much enthusiasm, sarcasm and humor.. and she always had a story to tell me. Her deep southern accent to her southern charm was always comforting. Her laugh was contagious. She will be deeply missed.
