M.L. Walters Sr. of Honey Island went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday March 1, 2018 at his residence. He was 80. He was a dedicated Christian Worker and Minister. He loved to share the message and good news about the love of Jesus Christ.
A native of Village Mills, he had lived in Honey Island, most of his life and was a Retired Welder. He was preceded in death by his parents Esker Ray Walters and Bertie Crosby. Son, Melvin Lavon Walters Jr. and brother, Earl Wayne Walters and one sister, Lorene Fowler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Adell Walters of Honey Island. Sons, Dan Walters and wife Tami of Kountze, Tim Walters and wife Tammy of Port Arthur, and Johnathan Walters and wife Missy of Kountze. Brother, James Darrell Walters and wife Ruth of Leesville, LA. and one sister, Vaudene Daniel of Kountze. Grandchildren: 17 and Great grandchildren: 29.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M at Jordan cemetery in Honey Island, with Dan Walters and Mitchell Gore officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Josh Walters, Adam Walters, Jeff Walters, Correy Walters, Jacob Walters, Joey Walters, Caleb Walters, Wyley Ener, Justin Aldy, and David Walters.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday March 5, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel.
