Melvin Donald Collins, 86, of Hull, Texas passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood, Texas. He was born in Cleveland, Texas on December 30, 1937, to the late Thomas Edward Collins and Ebbie Hilma Collins. He is preceded in death by parents; brother, Dick Collins; and sisters, Edith Marie Sanford and Wilma Pursch. He is survived by his sons, Kenny Collins and wife Becca and Donald Troy Collins; grandchildren, Haleigh Lively, Anna Tristan, and Jennifer Mintz; great grandchildren, Carson Lively and Josie Tristan. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Faith and Family Funeral Services, Batson, Texas. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 am officiated by Pastor Coby Elliot. Interment to follow at Guedry Cemetery, Batson, Texas.

I am so sorry to hear about Don. Our families were really close when Mama Collin’s and Uncle Ed were alive. My mother named me after Don. She used to say the only choice she had was Donna or Dickie because those two boys were so adamant about it. She just thought Donna worked better. All through my life I was partial to Don. No matter how long it had been since I had seen him it was just like things never changed. It has been a long time since I ran into him but my heart is sad because of his passing. You all have my deepest sympathy. Prayers for all who loved him. REST IN PEACE DON.
