How many times did Gloria, Linda and I (John Perkins' girls)drive by going to Guidrey Cemetary and wonder which house was Max and Corine's and I would always say - STOP and I'll go knock on the door! Now I wish we had stopped! Rest in peace dear Max. God Bless you Corine - you are in my prayers...

My memories of my Dad are how hard-working he was. I can remember when I was younger he would come in & I would pull his boots off for him & the smell was always from the oilfield or some location he was delivering mud or something in his vacuum truck. I can close my eyes & still smell that odor. He loved mowing & he loved wearing his overalls. We always had a hard time getting them off him to wear something decent when going somewhere. I have those overalls he wore that day before passing. Mom wanted to wash them, but I wanted his scent on them. I loved the fact that he read his Bible every morning & wrote his scriptures, something he evidently passed down to me. He never met a stranger & talked to everyone, & I guess that's what I loved about Al, he was so much like my Dad. Had all the same characteristics..faith, family, hard working, & never met a stranger. Love you Dad & so glad that you are in your eternal home & hurting no more. One day we will be together again. Your loving daughter, Bren

Uncle Max was always there for me... He gave me away when I got married, he always had a smile and a BIG hug for me and his faith in God was a rock I could depend on. He made the best chicken and dumplings ever, and he truly seemed to enjoy mowing - I think that was his special time with the Father. I love you Uncle Max - Tell Jesus hello for me.
