Mary Breithaupt Hendrix

Mary Breithaupt Hendrix, 69, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Mid-Jefferson Acute Rehabilitation with Heart-to-Heart Hospice. She was born on June 22, 1955, in Houston, Texas to the late Leon Breithaupt and Emma Geraldine Davenport.

Mary held a unique ability to connect with those around her. Her heart overflowed with love for her family, creating bonds that were cherished deeply. Her nurturing spirit extended not only to her loved ones but also to the countless animals she cared for throughout her life, reflecting her gentle and giving nature. Mary’s compassion also shone through in her vocation; she devoted many years to serving as a med aide and nurse’s aide, touching the lives of many in her community before retiring to enjoy the simpler joys of life.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Mary remember her kindness, her laughter, and the selfless way she put others first. Her captivating presence will be greatly missed, and her legacy of love will continue to resonate in the hearts of all those she held dear.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Emma Geraldine Breithaupt; brother, Keith Breithaupt; sister, Patricia Breithaupt; niece, Brandi Breithaupt; husband, George Hendrix “Pondwater”. She is survived by her sisters, Karen Flowers, Vickie Welch and husband Michael; nieces, Michelle Mercer and husband Richard Welch, Wendy Brown, Terri Flowers, Misty Sherbino and husband Aaron, Katie Scott and husband Joshua, Carla Gibson and husband James; nephews, Derek Brown and wife Jenna, Wesley Pool and wife Marica; and numerous family members. A special thanks to Stella, Daniel and Adrian who cared for her.

A graveside service to honor Mary’s life will be held on September 12, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Guedry Cemetery, located at 11713 Batson Prairie Road, Batson, TX 77519. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the beautiful life she lived, to share memories, and to comfort one another during this time of reflection and remembrance.
