Marjorie Ruth Cannady

1927 ∼ 2016

Surrounded at home by family Marjorie was gently received by our Lord and Savior on April 5, 2016. Her Heavenly homecoming was surely grand as many loved ones awaited her arrival.

Marjorie was born on July 14, 1927 to Leonard Simmons and Agnes Pauline Lackey Simmons in Texas City, Texas.

This beautiful woman was the example to follow of what a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother should strive to be. Her family was always the center of her world and she devoted her entire life to our care and happiness...no love will ever be as pure as she gave with her whole heart.

Plants and flowers were truly her passion and Heaven has acquired a master gardener for sure. Cooking was her pride and no one ever walked away hungry or without a smile of appreciation on their face. Marjorie's recipes will continue to be a family tradition.

Our wonderful Mother is preceded to walk with the Lord by her husband, R.D. Cannady, her son Robert Cannady and many others that she cherished.

Left to hold her memories dear are daughters, Lynda Woods and husband Tom of Hardin, and Terri Carr and husband Guy of Liberty.

Her grandchildren Jason Merchant of Houston, Ginny Anderson of Gerard, MO, Angela Brown of Liberty, Michael Merchant and wife Felicia of Hardin, Michelle Ussery and husband Thomas of Hardin, and Aimee Carr and fiance' Jeremy Worley of Liberty.

Her treasured great Grandbabies who made her heart sing when they called her Gigi are Landyn Merchant, Alisabeth Brown, Mikey and Kailee Merchant, Macalla Mobley, Taylor, Brian, Brent, Breanna, Kyra, and Elijah Ussery, Aidan and Noah Billstein, Kelsey Huxel, Connor and Coleton Anderson.

A service of celebration to remember our loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, will be held on Saturday April 9, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Dick Lintelman officiating.

No matter how stubborn I was nor what I did, you always showed a type of unconditional love that is rare nowadays. I will always be forever grateful and indebted for everything you've done for me granny. I love you with all of my heart. You're no longer in pain now and I know are an asset to God's kingdom. You'll be greatly missed. I'm not saying goodbye though, but will say that I'll see you on the otherwise soon granny. Love you

My beautiful momma .. We miss you so much! You will forever be in our hearts and you left me with so much strength to carry on as always. Everyone will miss you dearly, but you've been in our life and home full time for the last 5 years so Tom, Landyn and myself really have heavy hearts right now. Lots of tears for us, but knowing you have no more pain, time will take away our tears. We will love you always GG!!!
