Rheu was one of the kindest, sweetest, and knowledgeable gentleman I have had the pleasure of knowing. We became friends because I saw him every Thursday for the last 16 months. My youngest daughter Hillary and I had the pleasure of cleaning for him at Shivers in Beeville. We looked forward to his huge grin as he met us at the door every Thursday as we signed in. We always started the conversation by telling what we did the previous weekend. This was where Hillary and I learned all about his sisters and his daughters and grandchildren. There was no doubt about how much he loved you all and was very proud of you. He reminded me so much of my own father as it seems they had the same 'ideals' about life and how we should be living it. He believed in hard work and always giving your best! He had the cutest sayings! We shared lots of laughs and between the three of us, I think we had lots of 'opinions' about how to solve the world's problems. Truth be known, Hillary and I could have been finished cleaning in about an hour...but it ususally turned into an hour and a half to two hours of our time because we loved spending it with him and 'shooting the breeze'. He would give us the shirt off his back and offered his own money to pay us if our check had not been mailed on time. He even told Hillary she could drive his pride and joy- the Camero! That's just the kind of man he was! He had even offered Hillary an opportunity to go live with his sister in Batson IF she got accepted into Dental Hygeine school at Lamar in Beaumont!!!!! I could go on and on... but I just wanted his family to know how much he was loved here in Beeville. He always stood at the office door and waited till we got on the access road and waved goodby, SMILED, and then closed the door. That was my last memory of him- his great big smile. God Bless you all!

Debbie & Natalie, I am so sorry to hear of your dads passing. I always thought he was a good man. Especially at a young age when he would let me drive that 'Loud' orange truck. You and your family are in my prayers.

My memories of Rheu will never end. He was a very loving caring man. He had a heart of Gold. I miss him beyond words and love him even more. He was my Best Friend ever and was going to be my next husband. He had been a wonderful friend to me and my late husband. A while after my husband's passing, Rheu and I saw each other every chance we got and had made many plans. God cut our time short, just as we had a beautiful foundation laid for our future life together. I will always Love this wonderful man as I have never loved before. Until we meet again my Love!
