To some she was Aunt Mitty but to Curry and I she was Aunt Mimi. I always looked forward to Aunt Mimi and Uncle AJ's visits to Dallas to see two of the sisters (Aunt Hattie & My Nanny Estelle). I have very fond memories of Aunt Mimi & Uncle AJ -one being how they were to one another as a couple and thinking 'How stinking cute they are!' Their love for one another was priceless. -another was her timeless beauty and how loving and caring she was for everyone. Aunt Mimi was such an amazing lady! She was a blessing to many and to those hearts she touched -God Bless you all.

I so love my Aunt Mitty and Uncle AJ, and cousins Joe & Rusty...May God give you all the strength to get through this very tender time. It is a hard loss ... She is going to be more than missed. She was so loving and caring for everyone...family was so important to her. She was there for every family member in need...always giving loving support. She doted on me and my sisters when we were young as did all the Stepleton Aunts did! She was genuinely interested in how we were doing and interested in what we were doing. I felt so much love and encouragement from You Aunt Mitty & Uncle AJ. I have so many fond memories of coming to spend Thanksgiving at your home...and just can not rave enough about all the good southern hospitality and delicious food...I remember the pumpkin and chocolate meringue pies lined up....gosh it was all so good. A real treat to be with You and Uncle AJ and family. Yall, be strong. I love you all so much! Thankful Aunt Mitty is with Jesus in His loving arms. Grateful for her influence in my life.

If there were two quotes that would come to mind when I think of Aunt Mittie, it would be 'Her heart was as big as Texas' and 'Dynamite comes in small packages'. :)) Being a strong woman was a common trait with the Stepleton girls. Not sure if it was the water or all the many bails of cotton they picked, but each was strong and each had big hearts. But Aunt Mittie's seemed just a tad bit larger than the rest. She was the one that never turned her back on anyone, the one that always was there if a family member was in need. She played nurse maid to many. She never complained, I feel she actually took honor in helping, loving and nurturing others. She truly was blessed with the gift of unconditional love and never passed judgement. Not once did she ever turn her back or close her heart to anyone in need. I know she is in an awesome place, doing alot of hugging and loving. I look forward to seeing you on the other side Aunt Mittie. Love and Light... Peggy
