Kathryn ‘Maw’ Shaw of Hull, Texas passed away on January 7, 2020, at the age of 92.
Kathryn was born in Hull, Texas, on October 3, 1927, to Johanne Andrus Bay and Olevia Ellen Dowden Bay. She graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School in 1945.
Kathryn worked as an office manager, insurance agent, and bookkeeper for over 30 years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, and sending notes and cards of encouragement to church members, friends, family, and people for whom she was praying. She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Liberty, Texas, and in recent years attended Family Word Church in Texarkana, Arkansas.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Alton Eugene Shaw, and her son, Don Edward Shaw.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Douglas Eugene Shaw and his wife, Kay; Georgia Ellen Coon and her husband, Scott; and, Bonnie Marie DeHart and her husband, Jim. Kathryn leaves 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on January 11, 2020, at Cornerstone Church in Liberty, Texas. Visitation will immediately precede the service commencing at 11:00 a.m.
