of Batson, died on Saturday March 25, 2017 at her residence. She was 83.

A service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at 10:00AM at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Lesley Gaines officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Larry Hughes, Doug Hughes, Doug Hughes II, Trey Joy, Tony Dorsey and Sherman Benson.

The family will be receiving friends also on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at Faith & Family Funeral Services from 9:00AM until service time at 10:00AM.

Katherine was born August 16, 1933 in Batson, TX, to Ernest Ray Daniel and Edith Aline Barnes. She lived in Batson most of her life and attended the Central Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Ray Daniel and Edith Aline Barnes; husband, Randy Raymond Joy Sr. and sons, Randy R. Joy Jr. and Wesley E. Joy.

She is survived by her daughter Maura Joy of Baytown. Sisters, Billie Hughes and husband Buster of Batson, Corine Lawson and husband Lynwood of Beaumont and Ernestine Barr and husband Eddie of Sugarland; sister-in-law, Jean Odom of Baytown; grandson, Trey Joy of Highland; granddaughter, Katherine Benson and husband Sherman and great grandchildren Kristina and Wesley Benson.
