A Life Remembered
Obituary
Joyce Flowers Jones, 85, of Liberty, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, at Magnolia Place Health Care. She was born on August 16, 1941.
Joyce was a warm, sweet, and loving woman whose gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a true love for cooking, and her famous cornbread dressing was a favorite that will be remembered and missed by many. In her younger years, Joyce enjoyed dancing and making memories with those she loved. She was also a dedicated member of the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she proudly served her community.
Joyce loved the Lord and treasured her family above all else. She found joy in caring for those around her, and her home was always a reflection of her personality—spotless, tidy, welcoming, and filled with love. She was a woman who took pride in the little things and created a lifetime of memories that her family will carry with them forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Moses Brown and Helen Irby Brown; her husbands, James McGahey, Davied Jones, and Donald Ray Flowers, Sr.; her brothers, Alfred Brown, Oliver Brown, Kenneth Brown, and Noel Brown; and her sisters, Mary Lowe and Jewel McCreight.
Joyce leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her son, Don Flowers, Jr. and wife, Sheri; her daughter, Mitzi Quellhorst; her brothers, Bob Brown and wife, Kim, and Bill Brown and wife, Angie; her sisters, Betty Shoats and husband, Herbert, Elizabeth Odneal and husband Jon, and Debra Willis and husband, Robert; her grandchildren, Randy Falcone, Shane McBride and wife, Allyson, Jessica Flowers, Michael Flowers, and Natalie Flowers; her great-grandchildren, Mazzy Falcone and Skylar Falcone and wife, Ryleigh; and her great-great-grandchild, Maggie McBride. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, starting from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Faith and Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Glazener officiating.
Joyce's life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, family, and the simple joys that make life meaningful. Her sweet smile, loving heart, and the memories she created around her kitchen table will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She may be gone from our sight, but the love she gave, the memories she made, and the sweetness she shared will remain forever. Joyce's greatest legacy is the love she leaves behind.
