Joseph Elwood " Woody" Howard

Joseph Elwood ' Woody' Howard of Liberty died Friday, February 23, 2018, in Humble. He was 74.

Woody was born August 16, 1943, in Kenefick, to Fredrick Howard and Gertrude Votaw Howard. He had lived in Liberty most of his life and was a Welder. He was a member of Liberty Worship Center where he served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was always willing to help and serve others. Woody was quick to tell people about Jesus and his love for them. He loved to hunt and fish but most of all he loved his wife and his family.

He was preceded in death by daughter Susan Irene Howard. Sons, David Allen Howard and Joseph Elwood Howard Jr. Survivors are his loving wife of 54 years Ruby Maxine Howard of Liberty, and son Tim Howard of Liberty. Brother Phil Howard of China and sisters Sallie Murphy of Liberty and Barbara Battle of Beaumont, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel with Reverend Shannon Bowdoin officiating. Interment will follow at French cemetery in Kenefick.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel.

Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Howard, Timmy Howard, Josh Howard, Mark Howard, Chris Howard, Don Howard, Barry Douglas, and Jerry Douglas. Honorary pallbearers are T.J. Simeon and Clayton Leach.
