My husband, Scott and I were saddened to hear of Johnny's passing and extend our condolences especially to our nieces, Christy and JonCarol. Johnny was my ex-brother-in-law but the 'ex' didn't affect the love I had for my dear brother who I met nearly 60 years ago as a six year old kid. My earliest memory of Johnny was going with him and my sister on a date to the Pig Stand on Calder in Beaumont, TX and smearing ice cream on the interior roof of his brand new red Chevy Impala!!! Johnny didn't even get mad and had a good laugh and he became this kid's best friend from that moment on. Johnny was a good friend to me and became a good friend to my sister even after their marriage ended. He was a wonderful and loving father to my nieces. The last time I talked to John, following a previous heart attack, he was sitting in his hospital bed, reading his Bible. I'm so glad we had that talk. I'm glad I knew his faith in Christ, because now I know that Johnny is with the Lord and at peace. For the rest of us left behind, the strength and faith he taught to all of us will carry on. Joyce, his kind and loving wife, and all of John's family, will continue to be in our prayers as we look forward to that Day when we will be reunited when those precious people who have gone home before us. May the God of All Comfort keep you all in His loving care today and always. Sincerely, Scott and Arlene (Bruner) Brewer, Tacoma, WA
