69 of Batson, Texas died on Wednesday December 30, 2015 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday January 2, 2016 at 10:00A.M. at Thicket Church of God, with Reverend Mark Ainsworth and Reverend Phil Love officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pallbearers are Gary Gilliam, Josh Bowman, Johnny Jordan, Robert Austin, Daniel Struble and James Gilliam. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Cotten and John Cotten.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday January 1, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Thicket Church of God.

John was born in Liberty, Texas, November 28, 1946 to Buddy Gilliam and Louise Shane. He had lived in Batson, most of his life and was a retired Vacuum Truck Driver for Basil Oilfield Services of Saratoga.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Gilliam of Batson; son Donnie Gilliam and wife Melissa of Batson. Daughters, Cheryl Cotton and husband Gene of Batson, and Danyelle Jordan and husband Johnny of Batson. Brothers, James Gilliam of Quitman, TX, and David Gilliam of Gilmer, and half sister Mary Jo. Barnhart of Port Acres. Grandchildren 10, and great grandchildren 2.
