When I left my job due to consolidation in Bryan in late 2015, my thoughts were of moving in with Mom til i got back on my feet. However over the next few months, she fell a couple times. She already had a bad knee and her hip was starting to bother her. I felt i could do the best thing by staying with her and helping her best i could. So i put off getting a job and hung close to her, even while outside doing the yard. whenever i heard a loud noise, i was in the house soon as i could. through her pain, and her increasing frustration with her fingers not doing what she tried to get them to do, the off and on again dropping of little things like a fork or a pot, she had a smile on her face. at times, including that last week, her smile would fool me and i would not recognize just how much pain she was in.
