James David McCormick Jr., 75, of Liberty, Texas, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont in Beaumont, Texas. James was born on July 21, 1947 to the late James David McCormick and Elaine Smith in Beaumont, Texas. He was a retired oil field worker for Stanley Well Services. James was a faithful servant who loved his family and helping people. He loved fishing, company, coffee, Pepsi, and peanuts. With his frugal nature, he never wanted to get rid of things. He enjoyed a good laugh and making people laugh. James will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
James is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Joyce Evelyn McCormick; sisters, Earline LaBleu, Wanda Jean "Lupe" Dowdell, Peggy Stanley; grandson, Johnathan Dale Ballengee, and great grand-daughter, Averie Rearden.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, David McCormick and wife Stacie of Liberty, Texas, Texas, MIchael "Bubba" Foxworth Jr.; daughters, Shannon Ballengee and partner James Thibodeaux of Fannett, Texas, Monica McCormick and partner Brian McCall of Liberty, Texas, Daina Deville and husband Carl of Hardin, Texas, Melissa Foxworth of Baytown, Texas; brother, Raymond Wesley McCormick and wife Beverly of Winnie, Texas; sisters, Myrtle Baker of Lumberton, Texas, Linda Meshell and husband Emmitt of Winnie, Texas, Thelma "Tat" Goff and husband Ray of Winnie, Texas, Velma McCormick of Winnie, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, family members, and a host of friends.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023, 1:00 pm at Faith & Family Funeral Chapel with Pastor William Persinger officiating. Interment to follow at Guedry cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will begin from 11:00 am until service time Monday, May 1, 2023 at Faith & Family Funeral Chapel.
Honoring James as pallbearers are David McCormick, Bradley Nugent, James Thibodeaux, Cameron McCormick, Carl Deville, and George Carnahan.
