James Arthur Herrington Sr.

1934 ∼ 2019

James Arthur Herrington Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at his residence in Hardin with his family by his side. He was 84. James was born to T.A. and Jewel Landrum Herrington on June 8, 1934, in the small town of Groveton Texas.

He retired from Trunkline Gas Company after working there for over 40 years. James enjoyed working on his farm, having family get-togethers or anything that had to do with the family because they were very special to him. His church and church family was also very important to him. But out of all his enjoyments, the most precious of all was his beloved Johnnie.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas A. Herrington and Jewel Landrum Herrington. Sisters, Jewell Boyett, and Betty Renken. Stepdaughter, Pat Regen. Great -great granddaughter, Emerson Biano and his precious Johnnie.

Those left to remember him are son, James Herrington Jr. of Hardin; step-son, David Largent of Tarkington; daughter, Laquita Williams and husband Bruce of Kountze; sisters, Laquita Verde of Port Neches; Frances Malone and husband M.C. of Liberty, and Barbara Read of Austin. Grandchildren; 16 Great-grandchildren; 36 and great-great-grandchildren 5.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 10:00 A.M. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church- Marysee of Moss Hill, with Pastor Carlton Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Hardin Chapel Cemetery in Hardin. Serving as pallbearers are Jeramie Brown, David Deaton, Jesse Williams, Trinity Herrington, Brett Herrington, Matt Largent, and Paw Paw's man Bill Largent

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, April 19, 2019, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church-Marysee of Moss Hill.
