Jack Richard "Pa" Hanks, Sr.

1927 ∼ 2013

Jack Richard 'Pa' Hanks, Sr., 86 of Batson, died Tuesday September 10, 2013 at his residence. Born in Whitney Nebraska he had lived in Hull, most of his life before moving to Batson in 2002. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He was a retired truck driver with Creel Trucking of Daisetta. He enjoyed attending church at the Batson United Pentecostal Church. He loved to fish and to do carpentry work, but most of all, he loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife of over 53 years, Pearl Hanks; great granddaughter, Nocona Hanks; great grandson, Brent Fregia; and 2 brothers.

He is survived by his sons, Jack Hanks, Jr. and wife Ruby of Hull, Andy 'Gump' Hanks and wife B.J. of Liberty; daughter Martha Rawlinson and husband Jack of Batson; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

His family will receive friends at Faith & Family Funeral Services on Wednesday September 18, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Thursday September 19, 2013 at 2:00P.M. at Guedry Cemetery of Batson, with Reverend James Coots officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Prewitt, Chad Hanks, Thomas Hanks, Ray Weeks, Bill Worthy and Bob McOmber. Honorary pallbearers are Wilber Nugent and Mike Clow.
