Jack Donall Houghton 82 of Saratoga, died Sunday January 29, 2017 at Christus Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 1, 2017 at 10:00A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel in Batson, with Reverend Frank Aragon officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

A native of Morton, TX, he had lived in Saratoga, 34 years and was owner and operator of Super Pak store of Saratoga, and was also a carpenter. Jack loved his family and his store. He also loved his community family of Saratoga, whom he served for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Johnie Houghton of Saratoga; sons, Mitchell Houghton of Saratoga, and Teryl Houghton and wife Cheryl of Baytown. Daughter, Vickie Tschappatt and husband Jeff of LaPorte.

Grandchildren are Cheryl, Shannon, Kevin, Derrick, Holly, Andrea, Casey, Jennifer, and Abbey. Great grandchildren 13.

My Uncle was a Kind and Admirable Man, his goodness was obvious when you were in his presence. I always looked forward to our visits to see him, Wonderful Aunt, and my cousins. I did not see him often after my childhood and I did not know of his trip to the Lord till many days after. I know for a fact he is there. His presence is missed by many.

Mr. Jack was such a joy to be around and a wonderful person to work for. I will miss his smile and his stories. I deeply regret not being able to attend the service today. I will cherish his memory always. My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Houghton and family.
