Hugh Paul Mercer Sr., 68, of Hull, died November 25, 2017, at Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center. He was born January 27, 1949, to William D. and Effie Lee Gay Mercer in Port Arthur, TX and had lived in Hull the last 21 years where he worked as a truck driver.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William D. 'Butch' Mercer Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory is a son; Hugh Paul Mercer Jr. of Hull, brother; John Lee Mercer of Houston, step-daughter; Tammy Valverde of Houston, daughter-in-law; Teresa Seward of Rye, grandchild; Paul Christopher Mercer, great-grandchild; Addison Nichole Mercer, along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held Monday, December 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc with Reverend David Pursley officiating with interment to follow at Holly Grove Cemetery in Livingston, TX. A gathering of Mr. Mercer's family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc.
