Helen Carouthers, 87, of Batson, died on Tuesday January 17, 2017 at Cedar Bayou Nursing & Rehab Center in Baytown.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday January 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday January 20, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

Born in Boling, TX she grew up and went to school in Daisetta, and Saratoga. After her marriage to Larse they moved to Houston, where they raised their family. Upon retirement, they moved to Batson where they resided for many years. She was a member of the Community Church of Hull.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larse Quincy Carouthers, her parents, Robert Villow Jackson and Lessie Edna Smith; Sisters, Loyce Guillory, Anna Doris Rountree, and Eva Storey.

Survivors are sons, Darrel Carouthers and wife Donna of Batson and Marvin Carouthers of Seabrook; Daughters, Mary Mattson of Batson and Linda Johnson of Pearland; Grandchildren, Brandon, Tiffany, Tonya, Andrea, Darrel Jr., Michele, Denise, and Rachel., 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends.
