A Life Remembered

Obituary

Harold Ray Sanders Sr., lovingly known as “Bud” and “Padad,” passed away on October 11, 2026, at the age of 75 in Daisetta, Texas. Born on February 13, 1951, in Liberty, Texas, Bud grew up in Daisetta, where he spent his early years and built a lifetime of memories.

Bud was a hardworking man who spent many of his younger years working in the oilfield industry before dedicating many years to working in a prison. He also began his career with Daisetta EMS and Fire, where he served his community as a paramedic and instructor for many years. Through his work, he touched many lives and made a difference in the lives of those around him.

Bud attended church with his beloved wife, May, for as long as he was physically able and taught Sunday school for many years. His faith and time spent with his church family were meaningful parts of his life.

Above all, Bud loved spending quality time with his family. He especially enjoyed hunting alongside his brother-in-law and best friend, Charles. He had a talent for making Wahoo boards, a tradition that lives on as his family and younger generations continue to play on the boards he made. Bud also had a playful spirit and loved pulling pranks, especially when it meant making his wife laugh. His outgoing personality, sense of humor, and love for his family created countless memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Bud leaves behind his beloved wife, May Sanders; his daughter, Angela Wilson; his son, Harold Sanders Jr., and daughter-in-law, Missy Sanders; and his son-in-law, Tony Burke. He is also survived by several foster children who held a special place in his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Raymond Sanders and Joyce Lucene Arnold Sanders and his daughter, Shanda Burke.

His legacy continues through his grandchildren; Brianne and spouse Bryan, Leigh Anne and spouse Ricky, Daniel, Sabrina, Britany and spouse JoJo, Colt and spouse Samantha, Lindsay and spouse Krystina, Lloyd, Cole and spouse Micah, and Chase and spouse Sinthia.

He was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Sawyer, Leo, Zaidyn, Meilani (ReRe), Joseph (JJ), Joshua, Josten, Carter, Leyla, Kaynee, and Marlin, each of whom brought joy and love into his life.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Harbor Hospice, especially Mckenzie, his nurse, for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Bud and his family, helping make his final days as comfortable as possible.

The family is deeply grateful to everyone who has offered love, support, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time. Bud’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends for generations to come. His loved ones find comfort in knowing that he is resting in the Lord’s arms and look forward to the day they will be reunited with him again.

A memorial gathering in honor of Bud’s life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Faith and Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas. A memorial service will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Though his earthly journey has ended, the love he shared, the laughter he brought, the lives he touched through his service, and the memories he leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
