Elizabeth Ann Poland

1955 ∼ 2025

Elizabeth Ann Poland

In the early dawn of June 26, 2025, Elizabeth Ann Poland joined her husband in heaven. Libby, as she was known by all, was born on Friday, May 13, 1955 to Joe and Clara Bennight. She was one of 7 children. Libby has lived all over Texas, being born in San Antonio, raised in and around Houston, raising her children in Yantis, and spent the last 26 years of her life with her grandchildren and great grandchildren in Saratoga. She loved the arts and creating things, whether it was with her own hands or supporting her children to pursue their own. Her creativity was limitless. Libby has owned a café, recieved a Community Builder award from the Yantis Masonic Lodge and helped organize many charity events. She was also volunteer fire fighter and first responder for over 10 years. Those that knew her well, knew she was chronically late, no matter how early she tried to be. Libby leaves behind a legacy of strength, perseverance, and love. These qualities live on in her children, Cheryl Waldrep and husband Kenneth, Cynthia Baker and husband Britt, Jessica Ballew and husband Joe; her grandchildren - David Spurgeon and wife Alexis, Cayla McGinnis, Angel Cain, Douglas Baker and fiance Casey, Liam Baker, Fergus the Cat, Matt Ballew, Johnny Adame, Jason Waldrep, and Mason Waldrep; and her greatest joy, her great grandchildren James, Savannah and Dean. She was welcomed with open arms by her Husband of 36 years David Poland, parents, brother Richard Bennight, sister Virginia Meadows, and a multitude of loved ones. A memorial will be held at a later date.
