Edna Jane Mefferd, 87, of Rye, Texas died on Monday, August 7, 2017, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

A native of Franklin, Texas she had lived in Rye for about 30 years and had worked in the Retail Industry.

She was preceded in death by her son; Mitchell Mefferd, brothers; Lynn Johnson, Elmer Johnson, Earnest Johnson and Billy Johnson, sisters; Mary Helen Roberts, Francis Cooper, Maureen Green, and Bobbie Towns.

Survivors are her sons; Virgil Mefferd and wife Shirley of Rye, Kirby Mefferd of Rye, and Louis Mefferd and wife Sylvia of San Dimas, California, daughters; Laurie Long and husband James of Rye, and Janelle Dzik of Moss Hill, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great - grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel.

Graveside service will follow at 1:00 P.M. also on Wednesday at Concord Cemetery in Rye, with Chaplain Jason Sandefer officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Quinn, James Long, Christopher Mefferd, Jeffrey Mefferd, Johnny Johnson, and Donnie Donaldson.
