Edna Ivis Johnson, 70 of Devers, Texas died on Friday January 31, 2014 at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont, Texas, surrounded by her family. She was born in Saratoga, Texas, on June 6, 1943 to John Ryan and Aline Smith Ryan and had lived in Devers most of her life and was a retired cook from Devers Independent School District. Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday February 4, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Devers. A graveside will be held on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at 10:00A.M. at Rice Belt Cemetery in Devers, with Reverend Rick Edwards of First Baptist Church of Devers, officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Rayon, Seth Traywick, Cecil McKnight, Clinton Ayers, Fabian Galvan and Alvin Nelton. Elvis Jordan and Luke Hughes are the named honorary pallbearers.
