Doris Mae Tanner Gorden

Doris Mae Tanner Gorden of Batson died on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at her residence with her family by her side. She was 72.

Doris was born February 2, 1945, in Bay City TX to John William Tanner Sr. and Nelma Mae Rogers. She had lived in Batson since 1998 and was a homemaker. She loved people and had Volunteered her time to help those at church and hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Owen Gorden. Sisters Judy Carol Dulaney Joyce Irene Cooley and brother Edward Tanner.

Survivors are a daughter, Sharla Gorden and David Glenn Whitmire of Batson. Brother, John William Tanner Jr. and wife Pat of Raywood and sister, Iris June Fregia and James Holifield of Cleveland and numerous nieces nephews and a host of loving friends.
