I greatly enjoyed working with Don from the time I first met him when he was a service rep in Elkhart Kansas and he nearly broke my hand off with a handshake! Don was very knowledgeable about the work and he was a good leader for Xcel even in leading Xcel crews helping other companies repair hurricane damage. I will miss Don and I am thankful for all the memories I have of him. Mike Hunt 1414 N Zimmers Pampa, Tx 79065

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I was in the engineering department with Xcel Energy in Perryton, TX when Don first came to the Texas panhandle to work as a serviceman in Follett, TX. I worked with Don at Xcel Energy when he was in Follett, TX, Guymon, OK & Amarillo, TX. Don was one of the best people I ever met. He was always ready to help out in any circumstance. I lost touch with Don, when he transferred out of Texas, with Xcel. I'll always remember Don like the picture of him sitting in front of the barbells with his trophies. He started a weight lifting class in Follett, which is still carried on today. Again, I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. Ron Mick 12501 FM 759 Perryton, TX 79070 806 435-3105

Our deepest sympathies to the family in the loss of Don, he was a great man. I knew Don from years back when he became a part of our family by marrying my sister. Don was instrumental in helping shape two of my nephews into very responsible, men & great dads. They would not be the men they are today without Don's guidance. Don was always good to our family & we loved him dearly. He is missed. Farewell Don until we see each other on the other side. Travis, Sherri & Emme Hurn.

Don was one of kind and I enjoyed working with him. We had a lot of fun learning the Texas-ism's' like the difference between crawdads (a delicacy in TX/LA) and crayfish (bait for fishing in MN/WI). Don's face went white to learn we used them as bait - that's the first time he called us Yankees!! What a great guy; leader, teacher and friend. He will be missed! Mary Butts - Xcel

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Don's passing, he will be missed. I worked with and for Don @ SPS/XCELEnergy, he was not only a good man, but a good boss. I'll always treasure the good times that we had playing in the numerous golf tournaments and other rounds of golf. I also enjoyed being able to share not only our friendship, but also fellowship as Brother Master Masons. Lay down your working tools Brother and RIP.... So Mote It Be

Brother - in- law , a heavy heart I should not have it's so selfish of me not to let you go. Watching you struggle and seeing the sadness in your eyes after you got sick was heartbreaking ! God told us life in this world is like a midst of vapor. When God chose to take you home he got a great person. Now I know you have your smile back and happiness will be every where you look. You will be missed, you go on I'll see you on the other side. Later buddy Timmy
