David Jackson Mathews, 75, of Hull, died Monday, January 29, 2018, at Focus Care of Humble.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 2, 2018, at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc.

A native of Houston he had lived in Hull for 20 years and was a self-employed Master Plumber for Mathews Plumbing.

He is preceded in death by his wife Sandra Mathews, parents; Dorothy Holmes and Dorley Mathews, brother; Robert Eugene Mathews, and sister; Julie Hard.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughters; Tynia Colbert of Houston, Dana Fuller and husband Wade of Mineola, Carol Ann Rives and husband Larry, son; James Hard, and brother-in-law; Charles Hard of Hull.

Grandchildren are Jennifer Ogden and husband Chad, Jace Colbert, Kourtney Colbert, Annette Fuller Johnson and husband Phillip, Tyce Jones, Cordrey Sellers, Brian Sellers, Josh Sellers, Jared Sellers, Logan Sellers, Laken Sellers, Aleyah Sellers, Hailey Salazar, Kaylyne Salazar, Isabella Salazar, James Hard, and Brooklynn Hard.

Great-grandchildren are AyMia Colbert, Aayden Stroud, Arianna Stroud, Zoey Colbert, Alijah Stroud, Xander Colbert, Avaya Cannon, and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Robert Teasdale, Jace Colbert, Wade Fuller, Josh Sellers, Donnie Pyle, and Dean Klenke.

At peace and pain free, I'm so happy you are in a much better place. I can only imagine the craziness that's going on up above. David you have always been a great friend to our family and my dad remembers so many happy times spent with you and all the times you were willing to help him out in his times of need. He was a great guy. I will never forget his Santa suit he wore as he served his customers during the Christmas season. Rest In Peace, Mr. Matthews.
