I met Colman when he took over the Assembly of God in Bell Gardens, CA after Dwight Thompson went into full-time evangelism. I was the Associate Pastor of the Church of God, Bell Gardens at 5913 Lubec Street in Bell Gardens. What a prince of a guy; never met a stranger and made a 'newbie' in the ministry feel comfortable and welcomed. Treated me as an equal. I will forever have fond memories of Colman. Our loss is heaven's gain...and the great part aboutit is, for the Christian parting is not forever...!

I remember Coleman in Texas City, Texas, where he and his family attended First Assembly of God church, where my father was the pastor. We were living there when the Texas City Explosion occurred on April 16, 1947. Many people in our town were killed; Coleman was among the injured. Daddy took him to my uncle's house in Pasadena, and I remember Coleman sitting at the dining table, drinking soup through a straw because of stitches in his upper lip. When I heard of Coleman's passing, I was saddened. Absent here, but now he's in the presence of Jesus!

Coleman was my youth pastor at First Assembly, Dallas in the '50s. I always loved to hear the McDuff Brothers and Big John Hall sing. I had the privilege of meeting his Mom. Coleman inherited his sweet disposition from her. He will be missed. God bless the family.

TO THE FAMILY OF COLEMAN MCDUFF: I MET COLEMAN AT SAGC BACK IN THE 60'S. HIS SWEET, SWEET SPRRIT WAS EVIDENT IN EVERYTHING HE SAID AND PREACHED. I WAS RAISED AT 1ST ASSEMBLY IN DALLAS AND WAS TOLD HE PLAYED THE PIANO WAY BACK THERE. I AM SURE THAT GOD SAID TO HIM, 'WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT'. IT WAS A PLEASURE TO HAVE KNOWN HIM.

I remember very well Colman and his brothers John and Roger from our years in the Texas City school system. It was always a pleasure to listen to them sing. Long after graduation, he came to one of our class reunions and looked pretty much the same as he had looked in high school. For a while we were able to keep up with him in California but then lost touch and did not realize he had returned to Texas. We still have our class reunions every two years, along with luncheons held quarterly. As the years go by, we lose one or two members each year and miss those who are no longer with us. May our very kind and loving heavenly Father watch over Colman's sweet family. It is a blessing to remember Rev. 21:4 and to know that he will be reunited with his family and friends in God's righteous kingdom. I have enjoyed reading about much of his life and listening to The McDuff Brothers once again. Blessings to all.

Coleman came to Huntsville in the early 70 and sang on the campus of Sam Houston State for Chi Alpha. He also brought Connie Smith to First Assembly when Joe Barnes was the pastor. Chi Alpha has touched thousands of people and Coleman laid some of the foundation many years ago. I was blessed to know him and I am praying for his family. Malcolm Mire

I remember Colman when he attended the Texas City Assembly of God church. When the Grand Camp ship blew up April 16, 1947 Colman was injured. He came to my Uncle Melvin's house in Pasadena. He seemed to endure the injury with calmness and without complaints. As a child I was impressed. Colman was an example of a great man of God.

My most vivid memory of Coleman was in 1947 in Texas City, Texas. He got separated from his family when the Explosion happened on April 16 that year. We lived in Texas City and my father was Pastor of First Assembly of God church where Coleman and his family attended. Coleman was injured in the explosion and since no one could locate his family, Daddy took him with us to my Uncle's house in Pasadena for our safety. I was just a kid and Coleman was a teen-ager. I do remember the family in church. I have heard the brothers sing many times through the years. What a blessing he and his brothers have been and will continue to be through recordings. We are never ready to lose anyone. We do know when Coleman became absent from his body, he was present with the LORD! Praise God for Coleman's life and praise God for His WORD. May God bless and be with all family and friends.
