90, of Kountze, Texas, died on Wednesday January 27, 2016 at Baptist Beaumont Hospital surrounded by his family. He passed as they sang to him.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday February 2, 2016 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 11:30AM with Reverend Ronnie Morrow officiating.

Clifton was born January 30, 1925 to his parents, George Duckworth and Jonnie Crump, in Bratville, Texas. He was a self-employed carpet installer, a jack of all trades, and a WWII Army Veteran.

Clifton is preceded in death by his parents, George Duckworth and Jonnie Taylor., first wife, Ella Duckworth, and a son, Ricky Duckworth.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Duckworth of Kountze, step-daughter, Jelaine Morrow and husband Ronnie of Kountze, son, Jerry Duckworth and wife Alene of Volcano, CA, daughter, Freda Thurlkill and husband Tim of Volcano, CA, daughter, Shirley Douglas of Springfield, MO and step-child, Walter Dale of Midland, TX.

We were so blessed to have pawpa in our lives. We are gonna miss his smiling face, his wonderful poems, his stories about where he has been and the things that have happened to him. He always called me ' little mama ' bc he said I was always keeping him in line and out of trouble!!! He was always a little mischievous but he would tell you in a heartbeat that he was spoiled. Dawson was his 'little buddy' and they loved each other more than anybody could ever know. We Love And Miss You Pawpa!!!!! I know you are having a good time up in Heaven!!!! And remember what I always told you, 'Be Good'!!!!

I love you so much Poppa and I will never forget your beautiful poems and all of your great stories. I will miss seeing you everyday at the breakfast table and hearing about all of your adventures but I know someday I will see you again and you wont be in any pain and I know you will have the prettiest yard on the block. I just hope I get a mansion close to you so we can have our pancakes every morning. You always called me your Angel but now you are my Angel, I love you and I know you are watching over us.
