I never knew Clarence, never knew anything about him until I read this obituary. Clarence was married to my Aunt Dorothy; I lost track of Dorothy after my Uncle Albert died (my father, Albert's brother, died in 1961 and Albert in 1970). I discovered Dorothy had died when visiting Uncle Albert's grave a couple of years ago, which is how I made the connection between Dorothy and Clarence. Clarence seemed like a really good person; I'm sorry to not have known him.

I will always treasure the memory of that special year when we talked almost every single day on the phone, mostly about what we were each having for lunch that day and about recipes, etc. It's hard for me to look at that 'TexJoy' Sausage Seasoning w/o being sad because you sent it to me along with a recipe for 'fake' sausage made from a can of black-eyed peas! And I will miss the pears, oranges and figs you mailed to me from your own yard. You are a special, unique brother and I love you very much. See you in Heaven!

I always told Punkin he was my “hero“ which made him laugh. He helped me get my first car, a brand new, 1972 Ford Pinto, with a stick shift, which I didn’t know how to drive. He took me to my first pizza place in Port Neches, and we devoured a cheese pizza covered with jalapeno peppers, wiping away the tears through every bite of hot pepper. I liked to go to his house at suppertime, because his beloved Dorothy would have a pot of pinto beans, and cornbread, or homemade biscuits with honey. He always got up early and went to bed early. He was the first to arrive at Momma’s on a holiday because he enjoyed drinking coffee with her at the kitchen table. He loved Momma dearly, and visited her regularly. He could barbeque chicken to perfection. He enjoyed family gathering to talk and laugh in the backyard. He liked to play a funny prank on his brothers and sisters. He was proud to have served in the Army, and kept his Army pictures handy for showing us who his buddies were. He was a strong man, worked hard all his life, a self-made man. He always spoke the truth. His word was his bond. These are my special memories of Punkin. The angels came and led him to his eternal home. No more suffering, no more pain, whole again, and reunited with Momma and loved ones. I love you, big brother, my hero; rest in eternal peace and love.

My brother through thick and thin. I will see you again some day and we will laugh at our struggles because they will be no more...

So sorry to hear of Uncle Punkins passing, I just realized that our daughters, his twin great nieces were born on his birthday. May his family find comfort in the fact that he is now at peace and resting in the hands of our lord and savior.

Uncle Punkin gave me permission to have something of Grandmomma Hart's when she passed away.

Lots of good times to be remembered. Camping, hunting and fishing. Just riding around in the woods looking at the trees and hoping we could see a deer or some other wildlife. And getting stuck and calling Mr. Casey to pull us out. We got stuck a lot. Lots of memories. Love you Brother and you will be missed.
