Chester O. "Peanut" Tousha, Jr.

1958 ∼ 2025

Chester O. "Peanut" Tousha, Jr.

Chester O. “Peanut” Tousha, Jr., a beacon of love and strength, was born on May 10, 1958, in Liberty, Texas. He passed away peacefully at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas, on January 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and devotion that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Hull Daisetta, Chester played football with a passion that mirrored the fierce protection he held for his family. He was a true handyman, a man whose ability to fix anything around the house was matched only by the love he instilled in his children. His son, Josh, fondly remembers the countless moments spent by his side as he learned the essential skills of life, embodying the lessons of resilience and hard work that Chester imparted.

Chester's love for family extended beyond the walls of their home; it radiated through the community as he actively engaged in coaching his children in little league baseball and football. These experiences were not just activities; they were precious moments that he carried in his heart, sharing the joys and challenges of teamwork and sportsmanship with his children.

In his younger years, Chester found joy in the great outdoors, indulging in his love for hunting and fishing. There was something therapeutic about being close to nature, whether it was casting a line into serene waters or enjoying the thrill of a good hunt. He cherished grilling and barbecuing, where he would gather family and friends together, filling the air with the delightful aromas that accompanied his cooking adventures.

Chester is survived by his loving spouse, Tammy Tousha, who stood by his side through the years, sharing in laughter and love. He leaves behind his cherished son, Josh Tousha and wife Laura, and daughter, Che' B Tousha, whose lives carry forward his spirit. He was the proud grandfather to Reese Neumann and Evan Neumann, two shining stars in his world who brought him immense joy.

Chester was preceded in death by his father, Chester Tousha, Sr., and his mother, Doris Phillips Tousha.

Chester O. "Peanut" Tousha, Jr., will be deeply missed, not only for his unyielding love but also for the memories and lessons that will forever resonate in the hearts of his family. A visitation will be held on January 31, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas, following which he will be laid to rest with a private ceremony at Guedry Cemetery at 2:30 PM with Pastor Aaron Leger officiating. As we honor his memory, let us carry forth the passions he instilled in us and continue to share the love he so freely gave.

Philippians 1:3 “ I thank my God in all my remembrance of you.” Many of my fondest (and most formative) memories of my life were on that prairie! So many lessons learned on that trampoline, the four wheeler, the bicycles, swingset, and the ditch (iykyk). And Uncle Chester was right there… laughing at or with us, correcting us (dare I say scaring us-lol!) and encouraging us. So so thankful for these memories!

This is Karens fb page (Im her husband) Kerry Jones. Chester Jr. was not a “Peanut”; as matter of fact he was very instrumental in my life! In 1976 I had the pleasure of carrying 275# Peanut on my 115# back pushing a penny with my nose across the floor in front of where used to be HD high school Trophy Case (in lieu of freshman high school football initiation) It not only intiminated me but helped make me become the FIGHTING BOBCAT that I was! THANK YOU PEANUT!!! You will be on my mind as long as I live! From one FIGHTING BOBCAT TO ANOTHER! IN ALL REGARDS FAMILY, myself & Karen pray for comfort and peace in this time of tribulation!

I give you this one thought to keep….. I am with you still…I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quite birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine a night. Do not think of me as gone…. I am with you still…in each new dawn.
