Genevieve ' Granny ' Caruthers, 75 of Batson, Texas, died Sunday August 18, 2013 at The Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston. She was born in Liberty, on August 7,1938 to Jewel Franklin Parker and Gussie Rose Oakes. She had lived in Batson most of her life and was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Batson United Pentecostal Church for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband; Charles Elton Caruthers, son; Otis Carlton Caruthers, parents Jewel Franklin Parker and Gussie Rose Oakes, brothers; Lewis Parker, Eugene Parker, and Frank Parker. Those surviving her are sons; Charles Caruthers and wife Joan of Batson, Jump Caruthers of Saratoga. Daughters; Charlotte Price and husband Ron of Batson, Rita Johnson of Batson, Janet and husband Reverend Herman Moor of Liberty, Tammy Blaylock and husband J.W. of Batson. Sisters; Arlene Holcombe of Spring, TX., Beverly Fore of Magnolia, TX., Wanda Johnson of Flint, TX., Donna Johnson of Etoil, TX., Druscilla Lindbeck of Vidor, TX., Alice Matthews of Vidor, TX., Brenda Long of Vidor, TX. and Peggy Hall also of Vidor, TX. Grandchildren; 19 and great- grandchildren; 25 .' Granny' will be greatly missed very much by all who knew and loved her. A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday August 23, 2013 at 2:00P.M. at The First Baptist Church of Batson, with Andy Coots, Seth Moor and Elisha Moor officiating. Interment will follow at the Guedry Cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday August 22, 2013 from 5:00P.M. Until 9:00P.M. at First Baptist Church of Batson. Serving as pallbearers are Carl Price, Keith Price, Ethan Price, Jerime Johnson, Buc Johnson, Seth Moor, Elisha Moor, T.C. Caruthers, Toot Rountree, Ronnie Rountree, and Tyler Caruthers. Honorary pallbearers are Ken ' Fig' Newton, Al Johnson, Terry Rountree, J.W. Blaylock, Ron Price, Reverend Herman Moor, Gene Cotton, and Dwain Hart.
