Carolyn "Cacky" Hampton

Carolyn "Cacky" Hampton, a kind-hearted soul woven into the fabric of her family and community, gracefully passed from this world on June 21, 2025, in Houston. Born on September 5, 1956, in Kountze, Cacky's life was marked by a gentle spirit, infectious laughter, and an unwavering dedication to all those she cherished.

Through her years as a devoted homemaker, Cacky cultivated a home filled with warmth and love. Her soft-spoken nature enveloped her family in comfort, while her fun-loving spirit created countless memories that will echo in the hearts of her loved ones. She was a hard worker, drawing joy from simple pleasures, teaching her children and grandchildren how to find delight in the beauty of everyday life. Her passion for the outdoors led her to enjoy fishing and crabbing, where she found solace by the water, collecting seashells and sea beans and cherishing the serene moments surrounded by nature.

A true Houston Texans fan, Cacky exuded pride in her team, and her enthusiasm ignited lively conversations and spirited gatherings. Whether she was cooking her beloved beans and cornbread or getting her nails done—adorned with just the right bling of diamonds—her zest for life was unyielding. Cacky's connection with her dogs, especially her cherished companion Sauce, was profound. The loss of Sauce, a steadfast friend, weighed heavy on her heart, but it was a testament to the fierce love she shared with all her furry family members.

Cacky is survived by her devoted husband, Rickey Hampton, along with her adoring sons, Lonnie Vergara and his fiancée DeeDee Agard, and Jason Vergara and his wife Cindy, Her daughter, Traci Meadows, and son-in-law David, who have carried forward her legacy of love and kindness. Cacky was a cherished sister to Bessie Brunson (Paul Lavine), Darlene Meyer, Donna Rasch (Steve), Alma Legg, Karen Oliver (Gary), and Rebecca Maness, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her legacy lives on through her grandsons Colten Andersen, Stetson Vergara, granddaughters Krista Vergara, and Payten Meadows, as well as her great-grandson, Waylon Vergara, who brought her endless joy.

Cacky now joins her dearly departed parents, G. W. Buck Flowers, Wanda Flowers, and Edith Oletta Smith Flowers, as well as her sisters, Shelia Ann Burks and Debra Dyer, in eternal peace. As we remember Cacky, we celebrate her laughter that rang like music, her kindness that illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to know her, and her unwavering bond with family—an everlasting bond that continues to inspire us as we navigate the world she cherished so deeply. Her spirit remains alive in the stories shared, the laughter echoed, and the love that binds us all together.

Graveside services will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 26, 2025, officiated by Pastor Tuffy Loftin, at Felps Cemetery, Thicket, Texas.
